About Us

Welcome to our staycation home in West Sussex ~ Dragonfly Lodge Ifold and Alpaca My Tipi Glamping

Dragonfly Lodge Ifold offers secluded luxury self-catering accommodation for two guests in a comfortable ground floor apartment holiday let.

Alpaca My Tipi Glamping began in August 2020 as an exclusive pop-up glamping tipi in our Alpaca field, and has expanded to two separate tipi’s since summer 2021. We are open during school summer holidays.

Hi from the Denyer’s

We are the Denyer family, our family have lived at Hillcroft since the late 70’s. We can’t wait to welcome you for a relaxing reconnection with nature – whether you are guests staying in our lodge or tipi’s.

We have Milo the friendly Newfoundland who you will see (and hear!) guarding the land and our peaceful Alpaca’s grazing nearby. We have had our Alpacas on our land here since 2015 and we have a beautiful bunch of chickens and fresh egg supply.

We are parents to two young girls and a grown up girl and boy. We are a busy, happy, friendly family who will give you all the privacy you need for a relaxing stay here.

Sarah

My early career was hospitality through and through, progressing on to events, weddings and then a long-standing career in marketing. I started front of house and then trained to cook in a traditional Italian restaurant, where I developed a serious love of food and a strong desire to learn more about wine! I studied Hospitality Business Development at Bournemouth University and later expanded my skills as a wedding coordinator and events planner at a large country hotel wedding venue before moving on to travel the world. I wound up cooking professionally and running a restaurant during the winter olympics 2006, in an Italian ski resort.

My career diverted to a marketing role in the nursery industry where I furthered my studies with a post-graduate degree in Marketing and several years later a subsequent post-graduate degree in Digital Marketing. A decade of product launches, brand development, website builds and man-management meant I was ready for my next challenge – raising a family.

Since becoming a full-time mum I have also learnt how to keep alpacas, grow vegetables in our garden, raise children (the hardest bit!) and help Si administrate and run our vehicle transport service ClassicHaul, as well as setting up Dragonfly Lodge, our secluded one-bedroom self-contained holiday apartment.

Simon

Simon is from a transport and service industry heritage. Holding more class types than a university, he has every driving qualification you can think of, and a very solid and impressive career in professional driving. He started ClassicHaul Vehicle Transport Service in 2014 spotting a niche opportunity with moving high-value cars for dealers, enthusiast, restorers and professionals. After a decade of car transport he has now moved in to Classic Car Storage with the launch of new business AutoDen.

Hillcroft & Ifold

We support our local shops and love using the plethora of local quality ingredients from independent businesses we have in Sussex on our doorstep – honey, flowers, fruit & vegetables, butchers, artisans, craft beer, wine, gin and much more.

Hillcroft is our family home & (very) small holding that spans across both sides of the Wey & Arun Canal in Ifold. The land was bought in the late 70’s by Si’s late father & mother and Hillcroft house was built several years later by Si’s father. Si and Sarah moved here in 2014 and have continued to develop the land, bridge, access and buildings in the most sustainable and eco-friendly way possible. As an already partially off-grid home, we installed a solar array in our Alpaca field in Jan 2023, and are almost entirely off-grid. We are working towards becoming even more self-sufficient over the next few years with sustainable subsistence farming.
